Video without limits with Caerus Vision

When it comes to bespoke and exclusive projects, Olivier from Caerus Vision has plenty to say. What starts as an interview about outdoor TV screens soon turns into a much broader story. One in which the sky’s the limit: from a screen at the pool bar – much to the children’s delight – to transparent high-tech applications on display cases, mobile marketing stunts, and high-end customisable video totems.

NOA PARTNER

A crazy concept, but we can make it happen

“No matter how crazy the idea, we can make it happen: think of screens that rise up from the terrace floor, or fold away into the wall of a pool house. These are available in all sorts of sizes, as LED or LCD screens, whilst maintaining perfect visibility in sunlight. But to be honest, our biggest projects aren’t for private clients.”

From retail to unexpected formats

“Retail, the project market, cities and local authorities, or art and marketing: that’s where you’ll find our latest applications. For example, we’ve fitted a number of e-bikes with rotating video screens for Coca-Cola. A lorry fitted with screens has recently started displaying a kind of 3D visualisation. And for Accenture at Tour & Taxis, we worked with a partner to create an interactive ceiling featuring hexagonal screens that tilt in response to visitor interaction.”

Ultra-thin and double-sided

“Architects looking to incorporate video displays are increasingly seeing the potential in the latest double-sided, ultra-thin video screens. For shop windows, for example. They are just 40 mm thick and display video both facing the street and towards the interior. The LEDs are fitted with a light sensor that adjusts the brightness, ensuring a clear image even in direct sunlight. You can upload images and control an unlimited number of screens via a central platform.”

Transparent eye-catchers

“Another innovation is transparent screens. These come in the form of holographic displays or a kind of window sticker. The most advanced version – and also the most transparent – has been around for some time: an ingenious system in which LEDs are installed on the edge of a circuit board. You can see right through them. They are often used in offices. The films – stickers – for shop windows don’t perform quite as well in direct sunlight, but are often used on north-facing sides or on interior windows.”

Ultimate design freedom

“And because we’ve noticed that design freedom and aesthetics are becoming increasingly important, we’ve developed our new Impress55 – a display stand that you can personalise and configure to suit your needs: with a single-sided or double-sided screen, with a touchscreen, or in an outdoor version. And as an added bonus, we’ve also designed other shapes for these screens, which can be easily attached using magnets. Not a single screw in sight, no ventilation holes, no cables or distracting elements to take the focus away. Because we understand that, when it comes to video, the message is always the most important thing.”
