The alternative to the ‘plastic buttons’ is a fact. Following the launch of two new design models, you now have several options to choose from. What’s more, they can also be adapted to the design aesthetic of your architectural project. The Niko Toggle and the Niko Rocker are finished in aluminium and steel, and come in a palette of colours from gold brushed to steel champagne. The design team also focused on tactile interaction, with a soft, etched texture or a clear click. Are these designs the result of a complete turnaround at Niko? Not at all. Wim Gielen, Product Manager Design at Niko, explains: “We drew on the company’s design history for inspiration, more specifically on two iconic designs from 1928 and 1958. The Niko Toggle is inspired by the first Bakelite light switch that Niko made, while the Niko Rocker is a reinterpretation of the rocker switch we launched in honour of the 1958 Brussels World Expo.”
