ROVER | Scrap Collection

The Scrap Collection started with a simple question: what if we designed furniture from what already exists, rather than before knowing the material? ROVER processes industrial residual material not occasionally, but systematically and continuously. By designing around material streams that are consistently available, a scalable model emerges: residual material becomes a reproducible collection. The shapes, dimensions and characteristics of the available material form the starting point. This reverses the traditional process: the product no longer determines the material; the material shapes the product. The collection includes chairs and stools: residual material in a simple, robust construction. Despite its circular starting point, it is fully customisable, available in any RAL colour. Working with residual material therefore does not mean unique, hard-to-reproduce objects. It is not the end of a lifecycle, but the start of a new, reproducible product.
