Why were mobile saunas developed?
“In Finland, they provided a solution to legislation that requires any structures to be built at a distance of at least 30 metres from a lake. However, mobile saunas can be set up on the banks of the lake because they can be moved if necessary. They are also ideally suited for the Belgian market, providing a solution in places where obtaining a permit is difficult due to building depth or the distance from neighbours. The fact every municipality has different bylaws doesn’t make it any easier to know what is permitted. Obviously, you do need access to drive the sauna trailer into the garden. The lighting runs on solar panels, which means you don’t need access to a power outlet. After the first 15 minutes, the wood-burning stove is smokeless. What’s more, you can take your sauna with you when you move."
